ASHLEY YEAGER, LICSW-S, PIP

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

Hi! I'm so glad you are here. I'm a licensed clinical social worker in Birmingham, Alabama. My desire is to help individuals, couples, and families through life's challenges by providing counseling. I strive to provide a safe, comfortable space where you can explore what is going on in your life without judgment or fear. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, attachment and trauma-focused, and informed by family systems.

I have experience working with those affected by difficult relationships, adoption, foster care, women’s issues, and other stressful events. Clients I work with have experienced anxiety, worry, perfectionism, grief, loss, lack of self-worth, depression, and feeling unlike themselves. When meeting with families, my clients typically describe parenting issues, child behavioral and emotional concerns, and simply just not feeling connected to one other. Couples I have helped report feeling more connected, ability to communicate more deeply and effectively, and a better understanding of one another after counseling.

I've had extensive training in attachment and trauma. Attachment refers to the depth of relationship we have with one another. Many clients I see have attachment insecurities which occur when there are hurts through past relationships that continue to affect current ones. Others have endured traumatic experiences that have interfered with their lives longer than they’d like. Issues of attachment and trauma are common; many don’t realize there is hope for change. I meet my clients where they are and strive to provide a tailored therapy experience to help them through the healing process.
